Sunflower seeds offer an interesting alternative
Last weekend Koen Hefin Stanton, the new managing director of Alizetics, left for Tanzania to establish there for good. Alizetics Ltd, trade business in sunflower seeds, is one of the social businesses of ICS. Before he left ICS asked him a few questions.
No school absence thanks to sanitary pads
Many girls in Kenya stay at home during their period. They don’t have any sanitary pads which makes it quite uncomfortable to spend a day at school. ICS Africa donated 11.136 sanitary pads to the girls at St. Joseph Girls Primary School, so they don’t have to miss any lesson these coming month
Educational visit to Skillful Parenting project
At the beginning of this week Karisia Gichuke of the Bernard van Leer Foundation visited our Skillful Parenting project in Tanzania. Curious to the onconventional approach of ICS she travelled to Lingeka, a remote area where foreigners and tourists hardly ever come.
